Tasting Notes: Lugana is an appellation nestled around the base of Lake Garda, just east of Verona in Lombardy. Quite atypical for Italy, the soils are a mix of clay and limestone, which gives a cut to the wines that reminded us of a zingy Sancerre or top-flight Muscadet. The palate of the Marangona Lugana is just shy of moderate in weight with citrus, lemon, pear, and a core of refreshing acidity/minerality.
