Tasting Notes: Jerbis Amaro follows an old recipe from an order of monks, 16 different botanicals are infused together. All ingredients are Italian, and locally sourced in Friuli, including linden leaf, rhubarb root, currants, orange peel and cypress leaf. Herbaceous and balanced with bitter intensity but quite rounded and polished too. Notes of bark, buds, and roots. Like a forest floor after the rain.
Estate History: Fred Jerbis stands for “Federico’s herbs”, a name of Friulian origin to give the right emphasis and importance to the territory, which is crucial to the creation of the products. This project originates from Fred’s passion for plants and nature, nurtured during hikes through the woods in Carnia, while studying and picking botanicals and herbs.
Fred began to grow spices in neighboring fields and, finally, experimenting different extraction techniques to create essential oils of timeless fragrance. In 2014, the first laboratory was established, in which the harvested plants were turned into infusions and spirits.
