Tasting Notes: The Cantine San Marzano Rose di Primitivo Tramari offers an intense and persistent bouquet reminiscent of wild strawberries, red currants, and Mediterranean brush. On the palate, this elegant rosé wine is dry, fresh, and beautifully balanced, with prominent notes of cherry and raspberry leading to a crisp, refreshing finish that possesses a distinctive saline minerality. It is a harmonious and approachable wine with a light body and a subtle, pleasant off-dry quality.
Estate History: Cantine San Marzano began in 1962 when 19 local winegrowers united to form a cooperative in San Marzano di San Giuseppe, Salento, in the Puglia region of southern Italy. This area is steeped in centuries of winemaking tradition and sits in the heart of the Primitivo di Manduria DOP area, benefiting from ideal microclimates near both the Ionian and Adriatic seas. Over the decades, the cooperative has grown significantly, evolving into a respected winery known for blending modern winemaking techniques with traditional viticulture, focusing on maximizing the potential of indigenous grapes like Primitivo and Negroamaro while championing the rich cultural heritage of their land.
