Tasting Notes: From the heart of Sardinia's Barbagia region, Mertzeoro's Barbagia Bianco is crafted exclusively from the indigenous Granazza grape, a variety recently revitalized in the area. The vineyards, situated at approximately 650 meters above sea level, thrive in granite-rich soils, imparting a distinctive character to the wine. Harvested manually in mid-September, the grapes undergo spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts and a brief skin maceration. The wine is then refined for four months in the bottle, resulting in a fresh and authentic expression of Sardinian terroir. Mertzeoro, a family-run winery in Mamoiada, has been cultivating vineyards and producing wine for over two decades, with a deep respect for the land and its traditions.
