Tasting Notes: The Pietracupa Taurasi shows the elegant side of Aglianico. A complex aromatic quality combines a wealth of fresh dark fruits, a strong mineral personality with flecks of iron and a gamey, meaty tone. The palate displays dark red fruits then moves to an earthy, powerfully expressive mid-palate before finishing with white pepper and dried herbs.
Estate History: Winemaker Sabino Loffredo of Azienda Vinicola Pietracupa is highly regarded for producing some of the best wines in Campania with high ageing potential from the great varieties Fiano, Greco di Tufo and Aglianico. Located in a small farm, within the province of Avellino, which best represents the terroir of Irpinia.
