Tasting Notes: The Randi Rambela Bianca is a super aromatic white wine from Romagna's native Famoso variety. Although it was mentioned in tax documents as long ago as 1437, after phylloxera ravaged Europe’s vineyards in the late 19th century it fell into decline and had almost disappeared by 2000. All that was left were two rows of vines yielding table grapes at the Montalto farm in Mercato Saraceno, near Forlì. Famoso was then rediscovered and reinvigorated by winemakers in Emilia Romagna. The resulting wine is fresh and fragrant with an intense, mellow aroma of candied citrus and apricot.
Estate History: In Emilia Romagna near Ravenna, close to the Adriatic Sea the Randi family has been championing indigenous local grapes such as Lunganesi, Malbo Gentile, Dora and Famoso for over 70 years.
