Tasting Notes: Fresh and bright are not usually words used to describe Amarone, a wine made from partially dried grapes. The Tommasi Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is an outlier at a modest 15% abv, shows some great acidity to compliment the ripe, dark fruit, compote and baking spice notes. Grapes are dried for 100 days before vinification, this is an example of Amarone that has a place at the main course of the meal, not just with blue cheese but with steaks and stews.
