Estate History: Seedlip was founded in 2014 by Ben Branson, a former luxury brand designer. The idea was inspired by a 1651 book called The Art of Distillation, which documented non-alcoholic herbal remedies, combined with his own family's 300-year farming heritage in Lincolnshire, England. Frustrated by the lack of sophisticated non-alcoholic options in restaurants, Branson began experimenting with distilling herbs from his garden in a small copper still at home. His mission was to solve the dilemma of "what to drink when you're not drinking" and create a credible, complex alternative to alcohol.
