Tasting Notes: The Tempa di Zoe Asterias is a medium bodied, savory coastal Fiano. Bursts of citrus and white peach on the nose are accompanied by nuances of chamomile, honey and a brisk salinity.
Estate History: Along the coast of Cilento, which runs on the southern side of the Salerno peninsula in Campania, is the Tempa di Zoe estate. Tempa is the word for the rolling hills of Cilento that stretch down to the sea from north to south and Zoè is the Greek word for the essence of life. Soils are sandy loam with veined formations of quartz, and the crystal quartz mixes with silica in the compressed sand. The salty, fresh sea air, combined with these soils, create conditions that are perfect for the local Fiano and Aglianico grapes.
